First Joint Meeting between West African Technical Committee and Forschungszentrum Jülich project team

On 21 September 2020 members of the West African Technical Committee and the Forschungszentrum Jülich project teams had a joint virtual meeting to discuss work progress. Mrs. Annassi welcomed the participants on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). She emphasised the importance of exchange of information and coordination of the different tasks being undertaken by the both teams. She assured the project teams of the continual support of the BMBF.

During the meeting, the project coordinator Dr. Agbo gave a status overview of the project activities. He also highlighted the increasing interest of several stakeholders from the industry, academia, government agencies, the media and the private sector.

The executive director of WASCAL, Dr. Savadogo, made a detailed presentation of the collected data from across West Africa. These data are climate, energy and socio-economic data require as input for determining the green hydrogen potential. He explained that the collected data had been verified and validated by the regional technical committee. He expressed his gratitude to both the national and regional teams for this.

Further presentations were given by the members of the Jülich project team. Each working group presented a status update of its work.
