A two-day Brainstorming Workshop on Green Hydrogen was held at the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), Accra, Ghana between 11th and 12th November, 2019. Participants were drawn from an array of stakeholders from 10 West African Countries and Germany. The Workshop was sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The 23 participants came up with a communiqué after the workshop in which a strong support was demonstrated for green hydrogen technology. The experts constituted a West African multidisciplinary technical committee chaired by the executive director of WASCAL, Dr. Moumini Savadogo, to represent the interest of the region in the project.
