An atlas for the future of hydrogen

Africa as a successful producer and exporter of hydrogen for a climate-neutral energy supply of the future: this is the idea behind the study project "H2Atlas-Africa", which is coordinated by Dr. Solomon Agbo from Forschungszentrum Jülich. The aim of the project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is to determine the potential in the west and south of the continent for the sustainable production of hydrogen using renewable energies. On her trip to South Africa and Namibia today, Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger presented the results of the study for the south of the continent. Tenor: The region has enormous potential for hydrogen production. A recent article by the Helmholtz Association presents the atlas and the (Jülich) minds behind the project.
