We mourn the death of Prof. Fatou Gueye

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the much too early death of Prof. Fatou Gueye. After a serious illness, she passed away at the end of October at the age of only 40. Prof. Fatou was the first female professor of economics and director of WASCAL at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal.

As part of the new International Master Program in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH), Prof. Gueye was to take the lead for the Economics track at her university. A few weeks ago, she was participating in the celebrations marking the inauguration of the master's program in Niger, giving lectures and taking part in discussions.

With Prof. Fatou Gueye, we lose a dedicated young scientist who was passionate not only about WASCAL but also about the education of young scientists. Our thoughts are now with her family and friends.
